The 12th Annual Louis Gregory Symposium on Race Unity will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the Agard-Lovinggood Auditorium on the campus of Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas. There will be two sessions for this year. The afternoon session will be from 1;00 to 4::30, with registration beginning at noon. The evening session will be from 6:30 to 8:30, with registration beginning at 6:00. Three TED-talk style presenters will tell their story of their journey towards race unity or racial reconciliation. Among those speaking will be the distinguished president of Huston-Tillotson University, Dr. Colette Pierce Burnette, Chris Bishop and Alia Plasencia-Bishop, members of the Austin Baha'i community, and the dynamic Ms. Emlyn Lee, founder of the BRAVE Community.
The evening session will consist of a musical presentation on the theme of racial reconciliation by renowned Austin jazz musician Mr. Michael Stevens, followed by a short film and discussion. Light refreshments served. The event is free but donations to support the Louis Gregory Memorial Scholarships and the work of the symposium will be welcomed.
